Hi Mr. Darrington, my name is Blake, and I have a question I'd like to ask you. I was talking with Essek about shield magic -- I have a new house, and a training room that I'd like to enchant the walls of to make them immune to damage -- and he mentioned a couple of artificer friends of his that could do something like that, yourself included.

So my question is, is that possible? Would you be able to lay a protective spell onto walls and protect them from damage? And if so, how much you would like to be paid for your services?

So he said that I can solve your wall problem? Say no more!

It will take a bit of time to get the entire wall done. It's a lot of surface area to infuse magic into.

As for the payment...

[He thinks about how must Blake must be willing to part with for something so essential for her house. He needs something to get his full set of powers back, but not so much that she thinks hes greedy.]

50 shards sounds about right.

I assumed it would take some lengthy work too, considering the size of the training room, so I also contacted another artificer, Saelfen Ustrain, for it to be a two-man job. So that should cut your work in half, hopefully!

I'd be happy to pay either 50 shards, or, since I work at the Flame and Claw blacksmith, to custom forge you something equivalent to that amount, like a set of armor or some weapons.

I wouldn't trust any man with such as job other than Saelfen.

[The only two artificers in town. And possibly boyfriends? They're figuring that out at the moment, but a work date sounds like a splendid idea.]

Can you do armor with pauldrons? Something light that I can wear into battle? I just need it to cover my vitals.

I can absolutely do armor with pauldrons! A basic light set would include vambraces, pauldrons, and a chest piece, with the option for armored glove gauntlets.

Of course, this could also be anything from a basic unadorned set to something highly personalized with color and engraving, I'd be happy to do either.

Then I want one in gold colors and engravings. I want a "T D" emblazoned on it, so everyone knows it belongs to me. If I find some gems, could you add them in a tasteful arrangement

Consider it done. It will take me a few weeks to forge, though I'll mock up a few sketches first so I can run them by you and get your approval on design.

[ At the end of the day, Blake sends through pictures of a few different sketches of ideas. They run the spectrum from relatively understated and classic, to completely ostentatious with filigree carvings and more gems than necessary. ]

Do any of those catch your eye? I can also mix and match aspects of the designs, if you have preferences.

I love the filigree in the third one. Can you make the gems red and blue? Styled like the fifth design.
